Data Privacy Policy

COLLECTION OF GENERAL INFORMATION

When you access our website, information of a general nature is automatically collected. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider and similar information. This information does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your person. This information is technically necessary in order to deliver the content you have requested from websites and is mandatory when using the Internet. Anonymous information of this kind is evaluated by us for statistical purposes in order to optimise our website and the technology behind it.

WEB HOSTING

Hosting operator and data storage location: METANET AG, Josefstrasse 218, CH-8005 Zurich, server location Switzerland.

COOKIES

Like many other websites, we also use so-called ‘cookies’.

Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. This automatically provides us with certain data, such as your IP address, the browser you are using, your operating system and your connection to the Internet.

Cookies cannot be used to start programs or transfer viruses to a computer. The information contained in cookies enables us to facilitate your navigation and ensure that our web pages are displayed correctly.

Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.

Of course, you can also view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are usually set to accept cookies. You can deactivate the use of cookies at any time via your browser settings. Please use the help functions of your internet browser to find out how to change these settings. Please note that individual functions of our website may not work if you have disabled the use of cookies.

SSL ENCRYPTION

To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS.

CONTACT

If you contact us by email or using the contact form, the information you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing your enquiry and for any follow-up questions.

DELETION OR BLOCKING OF DATA

We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data minimisation. We therefore only store your personal data for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes stated here or as required by the various storage periods provided for by law. After the respective purpose has ceased to exist or these periods have expired, the corresponding data will be routinely blocked or deleted in accordance with the statutory provisions.

USE OF SCRIPT LIBRARIES (GOOGLE WEBFONTS)

In order to display our content correctly and in a graphically appealing manner across browsers, we use script libraries and font libraries such as Google Webfonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/) on this website. Google Webfonts are transferred to your browser to avoid multiple loading. If your browser does not support Google Web Fonts or blocks access to them, content will be displayed in a standard font.

Calling up script libraries or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the library operator. In theory, it is possible – although currently unclear whether and for what purposes – that operators of such libraries collect data.

The privacy policy of the library operator Google can be found here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

YOUR RIGHTS TO INFORMATION, CORRECTION, BLOCKING, DELETION AND OBJECTION

You have the right to obtain information about your personal data stored by us at any time. You also have the right to correct, block or, apart from the prescribed data storage for business processing, delete your personal data. Please contact our data protection officer for this purpose. You will find the contact details at the bottom of this page.

To ensure that data can be blocked at any time, this data must be stored in a block file for control purposes. You can also request the deletion of the data, provided that there is no legal obligation to archive it. If such an obligation exists, we will block your data upon request.

You can make changes or revoke your consent with future effect by notifying us accordingly.

Newsletter

If the newsletter of our company is subscribed to, the data entered in the respective input form will be transmitted to the controller responsible for processing. Subscription to our newsletter takes place via a so-called double opt-in procedure, i.e. after registering, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription. This confirmation is necessary to ensure that no one can register using another person’s email address.

When subscribing to the newsletter, the user’s IP address as well as the date and time of registration are stored. This serves to prevent misuse of the services or of the email address of the data subject. The data will not be passed on to third parties. An exception applies if there is a legal obligation to disclose the data.

The data is used exclusively for sending the newsletter. The subscription to the newsletter may be cancelled by the data subject at any time. Likewise, consent to the storage of personal data may be revoked at any time. For this purpose, each newsletter contains a corresponding link.

The legal basis for the processing of data after the user has subscribed to the newsletter, provided that the user has given consent, is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. The legal basis for sending the newsletter as a result of the sale of goods or services is Section 7 para. 3 of the German Unfair Competition Act (UWG).

Use of rapidmail

Description and purpose: We use rapidmail to send newsletters. The provider is Positive Group Deutschland GmbH, Ingeborg-Krummer-Schroth-Straße 18a, 79106 Freiburg, Germany. Among other things, rapidmail is used to organize and analyze the sending of newsletters.

The data you enter for the purpose of receiving the newsletter is stored on rapidmail’s servers in Germany. If you do not wish to be analyzed by rapidmail, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide a corresponding link in every newsletter message for this purpose.

For analysis purposes, the emails sent with rapidmail contain a so-called tracking pixel, which connects to rapidmail’s servers when the email is opened. This makes it possible to determine whether a newsletter message has been opened. Furthermore, rapidmail enables us to determine whether and which links in the newsletter message are clicked. Optionally, links in the email may be set as tracking links, which can be used to count your clicks.

Legal basis: The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.

Recipients: The recipient of the data is Positive Group Deutschland GmbH.

Transfer to third countries: The data is not transferred to third countries.

Duration: The data stored by us on the basis of your consent for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted from both our servers and rapidmail’s servers after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Data stored by us for other purposes, such as email addresses for the members’ area, remains unaffected.

Right of withdrawal: You have the option to withdraw your consent to data processing at any time with effect for the future. The lawfulness of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the withdrawal.

Further data protection information: Further details can be found in rapidmail’s data security information at: https://www.rapidmail.de/datensicherheit. Further details on rapidmail’s analysis functions can be found at the following link: https://www.rapidmail.de/hilfe
